I started with Mike back in May 2024 on the 30 Day Challenge and haven't looked back!
I always look forward to the sessions which are varied, enjoyable and give me a massive energy boost for the rest of the day.
Since May I have not only lost weight and felt fitter and stronger, but having these sessions has given me another mechanism to manage a chronic illness in a non-judgmental, safe environment.
I can't recommend Mike's Ladies that Lift sessions enough.
I became aware of Mike's gym several years ago via some friends of mine who were going but remained lurking in the shadows on the social media platforms until February this year. I wish I'd joined years ago!
I enjoy the sessions so much and love feeling stronger, reaching weights that never entertained my head when I first started that I'd be able to achieve (PB 100kg deadlift - boom!)Definitely not something to be afraid of, training with a group of like-minded, supportive women who all encourage each other.The sessions are great for an endorphin rush, I always feel better within 10 minutes of starting no matter how I'm feeling.
Mike is a tremendous coach and a great listener, so as well as improving my physical health, my emotional well-being also gets a boost.
So don't wait, do it!!
Oh god, this is not the most glamorous photo but it’s not meant to be either! I’m back with Mike Balsamo ladies who lift class after taking time off absolutely everything to look after my dear mam who as most of you know has sadly passed away.
I began training last September and as I hate burpees and running, but like to lift weights Mike was my best choice offering a few taster sessions. I was getting close to where I wanted to be before I had to take a break. So the thought of starting from scratch was daunting. But the small class of wonderful strong ladies and Mike is a safe space. I will get to where I want to be again all with Mike's guidance and support as well as my strong ladies' team.
Getting back to it has definitely helped get me out of the house and made me make better choices again. I take every day as it comes but The ladies who lift classes have become non-negotiable. For my health my mind and my weight … and a good chat

Turning 50 saw me taking stock of things I needed/wanted to change - one of which was a want to get fit and strong.
Seeing Mike’s “Ladies That Lift” sessions and the testimonials from clients working with Mike, piqued my interest as have always really enjoyed weightlifting. I went along for taster sessions and just loved it.
The sessions don’t just lift you physically but also mentally. You quickly see real progression in strength and tone but more than that you gain mental resilience, friendship and support from Mike and the other ladies.
I really look forward to my twice-weekly sessions which are now non-negotiables in my calendar.

Joining a new gym is always filled with an element of anxiety. However, by the time you reach the studio here, it’s evaporated.

HOW IT WORKS IS SIMPLE

There is one highly qualified and experienced personal trainer and you in your studio with no one else around.
Small Group Personal Training has a maximum of 6 people per session plus your trainer.
The workouts are planned and tailored to your fitness level. And of course, we take into consideration any injuries or limitations.
It doesn't matter if you have never exercised before. We take it right from the start.
OR
8 1:1/BUDDY TRAINING SESSIONS
You will have access to either
12 Small Group Training Sessions per month (3 per week)
Ladies That Lift:
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 9:30am, 5:30 pm & 6:30 pm
Small Group Personal Training:
Tuesdays 9:30 am,
Wednesdays 8:30 am
Thursdays 8:30 am & 9:30 am
(Evening Sessions Coming Soon!)
OR
8 x 1:1 or Buddy Training Sessions per month (2 per week)
(Buddy Sessions is per person)
Sessions are on an appointment basis & subject to availability
Both are run from our private personal training studios with your expert coach, helping you at every session so you're never left guessing what to do.
We don't do meal plans. We will teach you the flexible way to eat and still get into amazing shape.
Your own personal coach will be on hand during the sessions to give you any alternative exercises due to previous injuries or limitations. Everything is adaptable and doable. Your coach will be also available to support you between sessions for training and nutrition advice.
As a member, you will get access to our Nutrition Kickstart Online course, which will get you on the right track and complement the hard work you will be putting in the sessions.
When you join, you will receive a free t-shirt
We work hard but also play hard. Every month we arrange a social event for all our clients and members to meet and have fun
